You can protect yourself against people who are flooding you with the automatic anti-flood system in Network Assistant.

checkbox Enable flood protection

Check this option to enable automatic flood protection.

updown Trigger flood protection after (events)    /    updown in (sec)

These settings specify quantitative parameters of automatic flood protection. The first one is the number of events and the second one is the corresponding time period at which flood protection should check if a remote user might be flooding you or not. When the remote user generates too many events during specified time period, flood protection is turned on against this user and flood protection notification message is displayed in the chat history window and in the event log. The events are: chat events (messages, color changes, operations with channels), sound signals, instant messages, nickname and state changes.

updown Ignore flooder for (sec)

When flood protection is turned on against the remote user-flooder he will be ignored for specified number of seconds. Ignoration means ignoration of remote events (see above) from this remote user-flooder.

Exempt users

By default, flood protection does not protect you from yourself. You can also exclude other users from flood protection. So, exempt users list is a "white list". To exclude a user, simply type user's nickname in the exempt users list (one nickname per line).
